Juncos are our first hint of an impending winter in our area, and are one of my favorite winter birds. Yesterday, I saw my first ones. They are here. These beautiful chocolate colored birds will be with me throughout the fall and winter and into spring. It is so much fun to do some backyard birding, when I can't really get out into the garden.
