The Rufous Hummingbirds are here. They are early this year, although they can sometimes come as early as February. They are now here to engage in the Hummingbird Wars with our resident Anna’s. Yesterday I had two of them at my feeder, although I did not get a very good picture. I hope that I can get some before they begin nesting and disappear for a month.
I was really excited yesterday that we had a Stellar’s Jay come to our feeder. We don’t often get them, but I see quite a few only a block away on a really wooded street. We usually only get Scrub Jays around here.
Another bird we’ve been getting have been White Breasted Nuthatches. These are very pretty little birds and the cousin to our usual Yellow Breasted Nuthatch. It’s always nice to see them come to our feeders too.
Elsewhere in the garden almost all of my Tulips are now blooming and
All but a few of my Daffodils are blooming.
Plus the flowers on one of my Dogwoods are starting to open up.
Yes, spring is well underway here in our Pacific Northwest corner of the woods. How is it where you are?

It’s nice to see you at the final Sunlit Sunday gathering for this year, along with all of your tulips and such. Here, my snowdrops have appeared and I noticed a hint of something else poking through the earth. I’ll have to take a closer look tomorrow.

I’m also in the PNW, I have caught glimpses of Hummers a couple of times. When I lived in San Diego, there were scrub jays and 50 miles east in the “mountains” there were Stellar’s, but here I have all the birds I saw in the mountains at my house and a few blocks away at lower altitude are the Scrub Jay’s! So I like to think I live in the mountains. Your tulips are really blooming abundantly! They look so neat and well-mulched.

Thanks for coming by. Thanks. The compost is new. Until a week ago we had dried leaves, which are now covered by the compost. Glad you like it here in the PNW. I’m also a SoCal transplant here since ’94. Loving it. I love all my birds, and the bird watching is so fun to do.
