Christmas Table Runner Finished

Christmas Table Runner Mosaic Christmas Table Runner Finished…and just in time for my housemate to put up her Christmas Decorations.  Hanukkah just finished and it is sad to see it over.  But now has arrived the time for my housemate to celebrate, so here is the big reveal on the table runner that I quilted. I had made a Hanukkah Table Runner last year and a Rosh HaShanah Table Runner earlier this fall, so I wanted to do something for her.

She has said, “I want to keep the decorations simple.”  So she won’t put up a tree, but she was giddy over the Christmas Table Runner that I finally finished quilting for her, and couldn’t wait to start swapping out some of the decorations, so she could lay it on the credenza.

I think it looks pretty nice myself.  Take a look at some of the photos I took of her table runner.

Fabric For Table RunnerHere is the Fabric for the Table Runner already cut into the size strips I needed.  I really liked the fabric.  My housemate actually let me pick it out rather than come to the fabric store.  She liked what I picked.
Assembling The TreesAssembling each side of the trees.  This was kinda fun laying out the different strips and trying to decide which fabric would look good.

Putting together the back.  I appliqués ornaments on some of the branchs.  Not as happy with the back as I had thought…looks too divided.  This is actually the finished back.
Closeup Of Quilting On Table RunnerQuilting done on Table Runner.  I did simple straight lines in three different stitches.  I also did a star stitch in draped garland fashion.
Metallic Thread Top Stitching On StarAnd I used a metallic gold thread to make the stars sparkle.

And this is the finished Table Runner again.  I think that it turned out rather nicely, don’t you.    My housemate couldn’t wait to take it to work to show off.  And I took it to the quilt store to show off.  Now it is covering the the top of the credenza.

  1. Wow – I’m speechless -your design is absolutely beautiful! Usually don’t like quilts, leaning to primitive or vintage – but this is modern and vivacious – thanks for sharing:)
