Mosaic Monday – Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Yule
Its that time of year for Hannukkah and Christmas. My Mosaic Monday offering is of the Happy HannuCats in my home.
Esther, Zoe and Raja are wishing everyone a Happy Hannukah, Merry Christmas and Happy Yule. Esther is the grey and white kitty. She is 14. Zoe is the black and white one and she is my hunter extraordinaire. She is 7. Raja is the orange boy, and he is 1.
Gardening isn’t the only thing I do. I also quilt. It seems that I finished this Hanukkah table runner just in time.
In the mean time. In another part of the house, my house mate, who celebrates Christmas has put up Christmas decorations and has been busy making snowballs. They just came out of the oven and are yummy.
Finally, if you are looking to spiff up your holiday table, don’t bother going to the store. If you are gardeners, chances are there is something in your garden from which you can make a bouquet, wreath or swag from. Here are some from my garden – the nandina which has red and green leaves and red berries, the burning bush, which has only berries by now, the fringe flower, which also has red berries.
Other things that make nice winter bouquets are camelias (we saw “Yuletide” at a nursery yesterday and drooled), holly, barberry (if you are brave enough), any other kind of evergreen, fir or cedar. We will be bringing some of ours inside for the table.
Now, I would like to thank Mary at Dear Little Red House for hostessing Mosaic Monday.
Im hoping that everyone has a Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, and Happy Hanukkah
